Mother's Day Classic

Each Mother's Day, walk or jog to raise funds and awareness for breast and ovarian cancer research.

Care is central to our brand. Partnering with the Mother's Day Classic Foundation aligns naturally with our commitment to women's holistic wellbeing.

We support this cause in every way we can, and we remind every woman in our community that self-care belongs in everyday life.

What is the Mother's Day Classic?

Founded in 1998, the Mother's Day Classic Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting breast and ovarian cancer research, prevention, early detection, and treatment, and to supporting individuals and families affected by these diseases.

Each Mother's Day, communities come together for fun runs and walks, honoring those affected by breast and ovarian cancer while raising vital funds for life-saving research.

How your participation makes a difference

The Mother's Day Classic Foundation works with breast and ovarian cancer research institutions to direct community fundraising toward frontier research and early intervention programs.

Over decades, research has improved survival rates and screening methods. Ovarian cancer lacks a simple routine screening test, which makes research funding especially critical—one reason we continue to support this cause.

As a newly opened women-only treatment space, we are still a boutique venue, but we aim to connect every booking and every gift to real research and care in a steady, transparent way.

Research areas we support

Funds raised through the Mother's Day Classic support multiple frontier research projects in breast and ovarian cancer. Below is an overview of representative topics from the foundation's public research directions:

The University of Queensland

Dr Amy McCart Reed

Exploring novel biomarkers that may predict treatment response in high-risk invasive breast cancer, helping to guide more precise personalized care.

The University of Melbourne

Dr Zhi Ling Teo

Using advanced tumor sample libraries to study breast cancer drug resistance and inform the development of new therapies.

QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute

Professor Kum Kum Khanna

Investigating whether existing arthritis medications could be repurposed to treat metastatic triple-negative breast cancer.

Early detection and self-awareness

Early detection is vital for improving survival. Knowing your body, checking regularly, and seeking medical advice when something feels wrong can save lives.

You know your body best. If something feels wrong and you are not being heard, keep seeking professional medical advice until you receive the attention you deserve.

Breast cancer

Regular self breast checks can help you notice changes early. If you find anything unusual, consult a doctor as soon as possible.

Common warning signs of breast cancer include:

  • A lump or thickening in the breast, especially on one side only
  • A change in breast shape or size
  • A change in nipple shape, such as inversion, cracking, ulceration, redness, or soreness
  • Dimpling, rash, scaling, unusual redness, or color change in the breast skin
  • Nipple discharge without squeezing
  • Persistent or unusual pain in the breast or armpit
  • Swelling or discomfort in the armpit

Ovarian cancer

There is currently no simple routine screening test for ovarian cancer. If a doctor suspects a problem, ultrasound, CT scans, and other tests may be used. Meanwhile, paying attention to unusual changes in your body is especially important.

Common warning signs of ovarian cancer include:

  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Vague abdominal pain or pressure
  • Bloating, wind, nausea, or indigestion that feels different from usual
  • Sudden abdominal swelling or weight gain
  • Persistent changes in bowel or bladder habits
  • Lower back pain or cramping
  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding
  • Pain during intercourse
